William Kennon (9 Feb. 1713/4 ) received 230 acres on the Appomattox River, called “Fleets,” as a gift from his father in 1735. William paid taxes on four levies in 1736, and took the oath of militia lieutenant 7 July 1758.
William married Elizabeth Lewis, a daughter of Charles Lewis, in Goochland County 3 April (bond) 1744. He was sheriff of Henrico County, 1747, and sheriff of Chesterfield County, 1755. Chesterfield County appointed William a vestryman of Dale Parish November 1751, and charged him with ten tithes in 1756. William made his will in Chesterfield County remembering his wife, two daughters, and four sons (will dated 31 Oct. 1759, recorded 5 June 1761 ).
On July 20, 1746, James Akins deeded to Joseph Akins of Goochland Co. Va., 145 acres bounded by John Town, Wm. Kennon., and Stephen Wathens. Amelia Co. Deed Book 2, pg. 380.
