  The following two deeds involve HENRY VASS of Essex County, VA and his wife MARTHA. I presume this is Henry Vass son of John Vass of Essex who married Rachel Pendleton. Essex D.B. 28:158--Indenture between HENRY VASS of Essex and MARTHA his wife 19 Feb 1759 to Mr. Crutcher, a parcel in South Farnham parish of 36 acres. Corner stake between Nicholas Smith and John Blatt, corner to Col. Francis Smith, being part of a tract purchased by Vass of Samuel Smith. Essex D.B. 28:160--Indenture between HENRY VASS of Essex and MARTHA his wife 2 May 1759 to John Blatt of same, 70 acres part of a tract formerly of Nicholas Smith and by deed conveyed by Nicholas Smith to his brother Samuel Smith who sold to Vass.
