  William Cannon of Amelia Co. was the son of John Cannon II and Mary Price. On 12 Jan. 1746, William Cannon patented 70 acres on the lower side of Flatt Creek. Amelia Co., Land Office Patents 24, 1745-1748, p. 578. On 24 May. 1753, Wiilliam Cannon of Amelia Co. sold 100 acres, half of which had been patented by his father John Cannon II on 17 Aug. 1725.
