Several neighbors of William in the 1850 census have notable connections to the Herron family. James Billingsley, dwelling #359 sold Joshua Herron 112 acres on Lick Log Creek in Pickens Co., SC in 1831 (Deed Book C-1, Page 301). In 1848, Elizabeth Herron sold this same 112 acres to Evan Nicholson who is enumerated in dwelling 345 (Deed Book F-1, Page 153). Manly Teague and his wife Milly are shown in dwelling 357. Milly is widow living in the household of Elizabeth Herron, widow of Alfred, in the 1870 census of Macon Co., NC. Another Herron, Joseph, is listed in dwelling 351. His relationship with the other Herrons of this area is not known. Perhaps he is the older male enumerated in the household of Joshua Herron in the 1820 census of Pendleton District.
