    • "Joshua Dillingham Lived in Henry Co. Va. about 1790, and was in Madison Co. Ky.bef 1800. I believe Winifred and Joshua went into Madison Co Ky abt 1794, poss a bit before. Joshua sold his land in Henry/Franklin Co Va in Nov 1794. I believe that Winifred died when their last child was born in 1795. Winnie's father, Henry Harris, also went to Madison Co. He prob either followed Winnie or she and Josh followed him. "

      "Date of birth and place from Doug Park, WV but he gives date of death as 1821, Madison Co, and it had to be earlier."

      "On 5 June 1797, Joshua gave bond of 200 pnds current money of KY. in a guradianship matter. LeRoy (Roy) Brasfield's Will had been proven in Lincoln Co Ky court on 18 Oct 1796. As a first business of a newly formed court in Garrard Co Ky, James Brasfield, son of Roy, desc'd, appeared to make Jacob Brasfield his guardian, and Joshua provided the bond."

      "Joshua married 3/ Mary Ely Brasfield, widow of Roy Brasfield. In a deed dtd, 21 Mar 1815, Madison Co KY, "Joshua Dillingham and Mary, his wife, formerly wife of Roy Brasfield, deceased, and mother of James Brasfield, Elizabeth Brasfield, now Elizabeth Evans, Leonard Brasfield, and Polly Brasfield now Polly Delaney, acknowlede the above are the legal heirs of Roy Brasfield, deceased." This also involved the deeding of slaves."

      "Madison Co Ky, deed book P, pg 40: "This indenture made and entered into this 20th day of June 1821 between Robert A Sturgus Commr. appointed by an Interlocutory decree of the Madison County Circuit Court pronounced at the Sep Term 1820, to convey by deed of general warrenty for Archibald Dillingham, Arthur Dillingham, Lot Dillingham, Zebulon Harris and Elizabeth his wife, Nelly Cox (William must have died?), Vachel Dillingham, Eli Parkes and Winney his wife, Ebenezer Wilson and Rhoda his wife, Thomas Walker and Lucinda his wife, Henry Dillingham and John K Dillingham, heirs and legal Representatives of Joshua Dillingham dec'd, a certain tract or parcel of land sold by said Joshua Dillingham in his lifetime to Zachariah Tharp of the one part and said Tharp of the other part Witnesseth that said Commissioner for and in consideration of the decree aforesaid conveys to said Tharp all that Tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Madison on the Waters of Muddy Creek and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a hichory stump standing in a line of Flemings preemption the South side thence N 13 W 198 poles to a dogwood corner to John Williams thence S 13 W 74 poles to a hickory and small ash in a line of Talton Embrys thence S 29 poles to a hickory and three Black oaks corner to said Embry thence North 138 poles to three hickories the West corner of Flemings settlement thence S 150 poles to two hickories in the road thence East 250 poles to the Beginning with the exception of ten acres and one half that said Joshua Dillingham had sold previously in his life time to Elihue Green adjoining him between the new and old roads to the same more or less. To Have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land together with its appurtenances to the said Zachariah Tharp his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Robert A Sturgus commissioner covenant and agree with said Zachariah Tharp that they the aforesaid heirs shall forever warrant and defend unto the said Zachariah Tharp his heirs and assigns the title to the aforesaid Tract of land from the Claim or Claims of all and every person whatever. In Testimony whereof I as the Commr. afsd have hereunto set my hand and seal this date above written.       "NOTE: There was a Vachel Dillingham who left a will in Christian Co Ky, dtd 9 Dec 1802, probated Feb Cnty Crt 1803. Wf Hester, sons Wm., Joshua, James, Michael, and Vachel. Dau's Stacy (Babcock), youngest dau, and Patience, eldest dau. Book A - 1799, pg 11. He is the right age to be our Joshua's father. Christian Co is south of Evansville Ind, and east of St Louis, in western Ky. He may also be a brother."

      "According to Eva Dean, Joshua's father (brother) is Henry Dillingham. He and Joshua had a store in Madison Co."

      "Madison Co Ky Deeds, Book Q, pg 362; Polly Dillingham, widow and relict of Joshua Dillingham, for sum of $1. paid by Benjamin Moberly release rights of dower in 300 acres in Madison Co Ky and same tract on which said Joshua D'ham, dec'd, lived and died. Moberly purchased legal title to said land of my daughter and son in law (my note 0 this would be her step dau), Thomas Walker and wife. Given me ,,,,,,, my hand and seal, 6th day of May 1825. Signed, Mary Dillingham (seal)."

Thomas Walker for $150, sells to McKinsey Clubb, some land on Drowning Creek in both Madison and Estill Co KY. Beginning at SW corner of Fisher Rice's upper 1000 acres = = to Robert Waltons survey of 4485 acres = = to Smith heirs north 267 to the beginning = Signed, Thomas Walker, seal and Lucinda P.
