  • Notes

    • I have very tentatively identified Winifred Griffin as the wife of Gideon Harrison. There are two facts that tend to support this conclusion. First, an Anne Griffin died in Halifax Co. in 1798 naming her daughter Winnifred Harrison as her sole heir. Halifax Co. Wills, 1781-1824, Book 3., p. 311. We know that Gideon was living in Halifax Co. at the time the will was probated. Second, Gideon Harrison named a daughter Winifred, which fits with the assumption that Winifred Griffin married Gideon Harrison.
