  Note	1) John is absent from the 1840 census of Pickens Co., SC. Joshua has no males other than himself living in his household. 2) An 1842 jury list of Pickens Co., SC list John Herron with the notation 'Not found in District'. From this I concluded that John had moved away sometime before 1840. (Johsua was listed on an earlier jury list) 3) In the 1860 census, the children of John Herron were all born in Georgia. This agrees with later census records. So, it is logical to look for John Herron in Georgia in 1840. 4) There is a John Herron in Lumpkin Co., Ga in 1840 who is the correct age to be my John. 5) John married Mary Martin. (death certificate of Newton Herron lists Mary Martin as his mother).
