      In the name of God amen. I William Hudson of Northampton County in the Province of North Carolina being sick & weak, tho in perfect mind & memory, do make this my last will & testament in manner & form following.
      First - I give my soul to God who gave the same & my body to be buried at the discretion of my Executors; and as touching such worldly estate as God in this world has bestowed upon me I give & bequeath in manner & form following.
      Item - I give & bequeath to my son Nicholas & to his heirs & assigns forever one negro wench named Hanah & a negro boy Hanah's son named James.
      Item - I give & bequeath to my son Thomas & to his heirs & assigns forever one negro girl name Frank.
      Item - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Anne Taylor & to her heirs forever one negro fellow named Plymouth.
      Item - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Hanah Robinson and to her heirs forever one negro wench named Nan(?).
      Item - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Susanah Chappel and to her heirs forever one negro girl named Strawberry.
      Item - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Yarborough and to her heirs & assigns forever one negro girl named Sarah.
      Item - I give & bequeath unto my daughter Rebeca Farguson & to her heirs forever one negro boy name Isaac.
      Item - I give & bequeath unto my son Wm. Hudson & to his heirs & assigns forever all the remaining part of my estate both real & personal. And I do appoint my son William Hudson my whole & sole Executor of this my last will & testament as witness my hand & seal this fourteenth day of April in the year of our Lord 1759.

    • Proof of the marriage of William Hudson to Judith Billington is found in an Essex Co. Va. deed dated 14 July 1734 by which Griffin Dobyns of Essex Co. Va. sold to Abraham Montague 120 acres of land in the lower part of Essex Co. being one half of a dividend of 240 acres divided by Augustine Smith between Daniel Dobbins (father of the said Griffin) and William Hudson, the said land coming to them by their intermarriage with Elizabeth and Judith, daughters of John Billington of this county, deceased.       THIS INDENTURE made the 14th day and Fifteenth day of July 1734 Between GRIFFIN DOBBINS of the County of Essex of one part and ABRAHAM MONTAGUE of same County Witnesseth that the sd Griffin Dobbins for sum of Thirty pounds of lawfull money of Virga. hath confirmed unto ye sd Abraham Mountague his heirs forever one hundred and twenty acres of land being in the lower part of Essex County being one half of a devedent of Two hundred and forty acres divided by AUGT. SMITH Between DANIEL DOBBINS (Father to the sd Griffin Dobbins) and WM. HUDSON the sd land came to them the sd Daniel Dobbins and William Hudson by their intermariage with ELIZABETH and JUDITH Daughters of one JOHN BILLINGTON of this County decd and bounded beginning at a stake by a marked red oak by a Valley side, thence North East to the line on that side of the plott, thence to a decayed Chesnut by the fork of a branch, thence South to the beginning stake & red oak where it first begun, is now in the peaceable possession of Abraham Mountague by Indenture of Bargain & Sale and the
      Statute for transferring uses into possession .

      THIS INDENTURE made the 9th : 10th day of July 1722 Between WM. HUDSON & JUDAH HUDSON his Wife of Parish of South farnham in County of Essex Planter of one part & JOHN MOODY of the Parish & County aforesaid Gentleman Witnesseth that Whereas the said Wm. Hudson & Judah Hudson by Indenture bearing date the day before did grant unto the said John Moody his heirs a certain tract of land which said Wm. Hudson has a plott for: Begining at the Letter H in the Plott being an old corner and a red & white oak markt by it runing thence South crossing a branch of the York a stake marked by a red oak by a valley side thence North to the line G & D in the plott crossing the MAIN ROAD lying & being on the South side of Rappahannock River in Essex County NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that said Wm. Hudson & Judah Hudson doth grant unto said John Moody his heirs forever 120 acres

      Wm Hudson and Judah his Wife (the said Judah being first privily examined by CAPT THOMAS WAREING) acknowledged their Lease & Release of land to John Moody which is admitted to record
      KNOW ALL MEN that I WilIm Hudson & Judah Hudson of South farnhma Parish in County of Essex Planter am Bound unto John Moody of said Parish & County in the penal sum of Eighty pounds sterling money this 9th day of July 1722.
      THE CONDITION of this Obligation is such that whereas Wm. Hudson & Judah Hudson hath bargained & sold unto John Moody land in County of Essex the said Wm. Hudson & Judah Hudson shall at all times observe all & singular the Covenants contained recited in said Deed then this Obligation to be voyd or remain in full force.
